New in May '25 - Intensive ILCA Clinic for Women

Wildwind is now offering a women’s only ILCA Clinic, starting in the week of  May 3rd! The clinic starts on Monday and is running through till Friday’s race day, in which you can show off your skills. During the five day intensive training, you will build skills and gain knowledge on topics such as roll tacking and roll gybing, sail tuning, race strategies. On top of it all, you'll gain confidence in higher wind conditions.

Your coach for this clinic is Maartje van Dam, experienced coach and ILCA sailor. Maartje started out sailing Optimists nationally in The Netherlands, before moving on to the ILCA 4, in which she qualified for the Dutch Youth Squad, later to move on to the ILCA 6. In both ILCA classes, she has represented her country at Youth European and Youth World Championships and sailed in the Dutch Youth Squad for 3 years. She then moved to the USA on sailing scholarship, where she represented her University in the ILCA 6, 420 and FJ at multiple US national events - the highlight being her coming in 10th at the ILCA US Nationals. Maartje has worked at Wildwind for a number of years and was found to excel in teaching both monohulls and catamarans. This coming season will be her 5th, taking on the chief instructor role and as coach for the Intensive ILCA Clinic for Women.

This women-only clinic takes place in addition to the Intensive ICLA Clinics with Aaron in the weeks of  May 10th,  May 17th and May 31st. Both clinics are open to people with least one year’s club racing under their belt. There is no surcharge for participation in any of our Intensive ILCA clinics, but places are limited to 10 participants, to ensure everyone receives ample personal attention.
